The Foundry Ministries, Fairfield Thrift Store, Fairfield, AL has an immediate opening for an Assistant Warehouse Manager.  The Warehouse Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Manager and thrift store staff in the daily operations of the warehouse. In addition, the Warehouse Assistant Manager provides Employment Readiness leadership and training to the program participants assigned to the warehouse.

It is the duty of the Warehouse Assistant Manager to hold to the mission, vision, and core values of The Foundry.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Safety and Security:

  • Collaborates with thrift store staff to set and turn off facility alarm(s) as scheduled
  • Secures all gates and doors as scheduled
  • Coordinates with thrift store staff to facilitate safety training, including severe weather, fire, and hostile intruder
  • Serves as a liaison to the Distribution Center Senior Manager in the absence of the Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Manager, Production Manager, Fairfield General Manager and/or Assistant Manager
  • Ensures that warehouse procedures and protocol are followed by staff, volunteers, program participants, and donors
  • Responsible for opening and closing the warehouse as scheduled
  • Collaborates with Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Manager and donation truck drivers to receive and sort donations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Partners with Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Manager to maintain order, cleanliness and safety of warehouse and outside storage/donation areas
  • Assists Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Manager in pricing donations and preparing items for transport to the sales floor
  • Supervises placement of items for sale and removal of items from the sales floor; consistently checks items on sales floor to ensure proper sales tags are visible and accurate
  • Communicates with Warehouse Manager regarding maintenance and supply request
  • Collaborates with management to facilitate overflow storage

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Certificate, or GED
  • Fork Lift Operator Certification

 Experience:

  • Warehouse supervision and management experience

Requirements:

  • State Issued Driver License; CDL a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and Email
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to resolve issues in a calm and efficient manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting information in person or via various communication channels (telephone, email, social media)
  • Servant leader
  • Quick learner and enjoys the challenge of taking on new assignments
