Warehouse Associate

Position Summary 

The Warehouse Associate is primarily responsible for assisting with all donations contributed to The Foundry.  The Associate's work assignments will be in the offsite warehouse and as a donation truck rider.  The Associate is expected to promote and participate in a collegial atmosphere within the Enterprises Department and collaborate with the team to meet the departmental goals.

Candidates are subject to a pre-employment drug screen.

Warehouse Duties:

  • Trained to operate the forklift to load and unload items from the donation truck safely
  • Use safety measures to operate the baling machine for recycling clothing items
  • Collaborate with warehouse team to complete daily warehouse duties
  • Communicate effectively with the Assistant Manager, Offsite Warehouse, for everyday tasks

Donation Truck Rider Duties:

  • Assist the donation truck driver in picking up donations from residences and businesses efficiently
  • Serve as the primary loader and unloader of the donation truck
  • Maintain constant communication with Dispatch during the route while the driver is operating the vehicle
  • Observe all safety rules outlined in the ministry guidelines, Alabama Department of Public Safety, and OSHA
  • Apply appropriate rider guidelines to bend, lift, carry, load, and unload heavy objects, enter and exit the vehicle frequently during the route, and ride long distances

Customer Relations:

  • Serve as an ambassador of The Foundry Ministries, Inc.
  • Treat each individual with dignity and respect
  • Follow departmental guidelines for customer service and resolving customer issues
  • Deliver exemplary customer service to donors

Employment Readiness:

  • Follow program and rider guidelines regarding interactions with program participants
  • Treat each program participant with dignity and professionalism
  • Communicate issues and concerns regarding program participants to management
  • Maintain program participant confidentiality at all times

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Certificate, GED, or approved equivalent experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an organization
  • Knowledge of safe lifting/carrying guidelines and other basic safety guidelines
  • Able to work required overtime as assigned by the General Manager, including but not limited to evening shifts and special events
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and email
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to resolve issues in a calm and efficient manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting information in person or via various communication channels (telephone, email, social media)
